Zeolite

Zeolite, any member of a family of hydrated aluminosilicate minerals that contain alkali and alkaline-earth metals. The zeolites are noted for their lability toward ion-exchange and reversible dehydration. They have a framework structure that encloses interconnected cavities occupied by large metal cations (positively charged ions) and water molecules.

Zeolite in Egg Production: Improving the quality of egg shells of laying poultry or laying hens without deleterious effects on the con- tents of the poultry egg shells by adding a small amount of Zeolite to the feed of the poultry.

The benefits of using zeolite for chickens:

  • Substitution in daily food instead of corn and flour and reducing dependence on outside.

  • Decreasing the humidity of feces and litter as a result of disruption in the life cycle of coccidia

  • Prevention of fungal poisoning (aspergillosis)

  • Regulating the absorption of calcium and phosphorus and as a result of more strength of the egg shell

  • Creating more health in the mother hen and transferring it to the chicks, resulting in more profit for the chicken farmer

The benefits of using enzymes in poultry:

  • Increasing the enzyme in the diet is equal to reducing the food consumption as a result of preventing the obesity of the poultry

  • Reduction of respiratory diseases

  • absorption of bed moisture

  • prevention of aflatoxin poisoning
